I love to play games on my Pc

How to build a gaming computer

Compared with the average home or office PC, a computer built for gaming requires a more powerful hardware to support the high-definition games. If you want to build your own gaming device, here are the components you shall require,
PROCESSOR

Go for the quad core Intel Core i5-3470 processor, which costs Rs 11,745. It runs at a frequency of 3.2 GHz, and can go up to 3.6 GHz with turbo speed, has 6 MB cache and uses just 77 W of power. The 22 nm manufacturing ensures that the processor does not overheat. It also has a built-in GPU to switch from a dedicated graphics card, when required.

MOTHERBOARD

The motherboard should have enough ports to connect various components. We recommend Gigabyte's G1 Sniper M3 gaming motherboard (Rs 11,500) with multi-GPU support, which lets you switch between onboard graphics and dedicated ones easily, and on-board THX-certified Creative quad core audio processor.

RAM

You should have at least 8 GB RAM in your PC for optimised performance. Since the Gigabyte motherboard has four RAM slots, go for dual 4 GB RAM sticks of G.Skill RipjawsX (Rs 4,000) or the Corsair Vengeance (Rs 3,500). These DDR3 RAM modules run at a frequency of 1,600 MHz and have special heat sinks to keep them cool.

STORAGE

Install a solid state drive (SSD) as primary storage and a regular SATA hard drive as the secondary one. The flash memory-based SSD will ensure a fast boot time and program launch, while the hard drive will be handy for all your data. Pick the Kingston V+200 90 GB SSD (Rs 5,000) and add a Western Digital 2 TB hard disk drive (Rs 6,000).

GRAPHICS CARD

The graphics card is a crucial component as it delivers the visual effects that are needed to provide an engrossing experience. Ensure that the card isn't prone to overheating. You can opt for either the Nvidia GTX 650 Ti or AMD HD 6870 graphics card. Both have 1 GB dedicated video memory and dual DVI/HDMI ports. These will cost about Rs 12,000.

Cabinet & power supply

If you want a true gaming cabinet, buy the CoolerMaster USP 100. It costs Rs 4,000, has a tool-free design (to help disassemble quickly), blue LED lighting and a top panel for easy access to front ports. Combine it with a CoolerMaster or Corsair 600 W power supply unit (Rs 4,000) to provide enough power for all your components.

Monitor

For gaming, you should have either a 22- or 24-inch full HD monitor with HDMI connectivity. We recommend going for the Dell S2340L (Rs 14,000), which has full HD resolution with an IPS panel that provides excellent viewing angles. You can also pick up an HP 23-inch LED 3D monitor for Rs 14,000 if you want the 3D experience.
